Folie Concpets
Our current theme of movability helped with intial concepts for our concept we tried numerous designs to reach an understanding, this included brainstorming, researching and most helpfully conceptual model-making.

Folie- Designing Stages
Whilst conceptualizing ideas, we started thinking about the area around HSW, and what makes it such a key area. Multiple ideas from the verticality of the skyline and the storey bridge were strong, however we couldn't look past the river, it is fundamentally the most iconic element that Brisbane City has to offer.
The movement/ flow was important through the site, and thus must be designed to enhance this in a way that will either create a 'flow-through' zone, which is used as a temporary space, or a space that enables the user to learn by having the floor move up and down with the tide, and the general structure(walls, ceilings and restraints) would remain static.
This idea is to be able to let the users of the space feel the difference that small tidal changes can have on a space. The idea is that from low-tide to high tide the space will constrict the user into only certain parts of the folie.

Walkshop
As previously I have completed DAB525, I had already finshed the walkshop, however I decided that it would be most important to see it in it's current state as interesting pieces about the site may have changed. To get there I decided to use a nearly direct route and go through the botanical gardens boardwalk and along the river. Starting off at X block and walking down a side path to the mangroves that I have become accustomed to, I designed a reflectance spot down here on the river in Placemaking and always find the lack of people to aid in the progression of design. Following the curved path, me and a friend stop to look over the river(in which she leaves her camera behind, but lucky we realized 2 minutes later, and by some stroke of luck it was still there). We continue on to Howard Smith Wharves and look around at what is unused, ugly space, continue to debate about what could actually be built here. Uh-oh, lecture started 5minutes ago. So we race back to QUT.
