Theory - Kobon Triangle

Th Kobon Triangle theory is an unsolved theory in combinational geometry that asks for the greatest number of triangles that can be created by using k straight lines, the theory is interesting due to it's complexity and allows my design to take a unique form through replication. This however is too complex to form a workable building, thus i have simply taken it's random replication as a theory in my design.

Theory - The Golden Ratio

 

In mathematics and the arts, two quantites are in 'golden ratio' if the ratio of the sum pf the quantities to the larger quantity and is equal to the larger quantity to the smaller one.
The goldne rule itself is relatively overused in architecture, and thus I decided that it's idea of generative replication will be symbolic in my design. This will be used much in the same way as a nother form of the golden ratio which is aperiodic tiling. Which is tiling formed from a particular predefined set, that becomes smaller.  The image below is something i created to look at the relevance of the golden ratio in terms of building design, everything has its perfect spot. everything is accesible.

What is Reality?

Explaining Reality is more complex than any words would be able to describe, to get to the pits of Reality, one must ponder if they perceive the whole 'truth'. Whilst trying to shell out my concept, I went through various possibilities, from simple forms to complex ins and outs. It wasn't until I was looking through an old journal, and I saw the words Lucid Dreaming scribbled on the page that I truly understood what this project should become, I started researching Lucid Dreaming and Perception, this led me to look at Inception(the movie). What I kept on thinking was what is reality? To answer in short, reality is decay, it is death and it is also life. What we perceive as reality isn't necessarily right, but it is close.

My totem(artefact) are the links on a watch. All the parts link together to form a whole. 

Postcard - Generative Art

 I chose my postcard in accordance to gaps/symmetry/replication. I decided to portray this simply, by using a simple pattern and creating gaps in it.
